Good News! Gospel Stories Told Through Cartoons

Discover “Good News!” — Gospel stories told through respectful, humorous Bible cartoons that bring Scripture to life with heart and joy. And since we draw caricatures, you might just see a familiar face too.

Good News! Gospel Stories Told Through Cartoons

Bringing the Gospels to Life with Art

We’re launching a brand-new regular feature on Bible Study Cartoons called “Good News!” — and it’s all about the Gospels.

Matthew. Mark. Luke. John.
Fishing nets. Fig trees. Tax booths. Wedding feasts.
And the kind of miracles that still make you lean forward a little.

A Sweet Twist

Now here’s the twist.

Opa is, at heart, a caricature artist. Which means our Bible “actors” may look… suspiciously familiar. Not ancient marble statues. Not stained-glass silhouettes. Familiar-familiar! The kind of familiar that makes you squint at your screen and whisper, “Wait… is that…naw… it couldn’t be…could it?”

We’re not saying. 😇
We’re just drawing.

The Theology of Cartoons

Let’s also be clear about something important:

We are not theologians. We do not own tweed jackets with elbow patches. We have never used the phrase perichoretic union in casual conversation.

But we love the Gospel(s). We respect theology deeply. And we promise to keep our humor safely on the heaven side of the line (sometimes just barely—but we’ll keep things where they belong).

Our goal isn’t to reinterpret Scripture.
It’s to illustrate it.
To smile with it.
To let the joy of it sneak up on us again.

Almost-True Stories

The stories are faithful to the Gospel. The message is timeless. The tone is gentle. And every once in awhile, there might also be a small wink that helps you see something you hadn’t noticed before.

Because joy and truth are not enemies. They sit at the same table.

So if Matthew looks a little like your cousin or someone in the parish…
If Peter resembles a guy from your church softball team…
If someone in the crowd scene feels oddly familiar (we like to hide cool stuff in the crowds)…

Relax. Smile. Keep reading.

It’s all about the Bible.
It’s all about Jesus.
It’s all GOOD NEWS.
