PUDDIN SWAMP SC (BSC News) — A “somewhat elderly” couple defied the odds recently as they ventured through the Puddin Swamp near Turbeville recently on their motorcycle. We’ll call them “David and Glenda” in this story. Their names have been changed to protect their privacy.
Let’s talk about the Bible and life.
IT IS WRITTEN …
The Bible tells us that the world will not like you if you try to be like Jesus. They did not like Jesus because His message included the need for change deep in our souls. The world needs the Holy Spirit in order to want this change in their lives.
We caught up with David and Glenda at a gas station on Highway 378 recently. We asked them about their life together and how they managed to stay together.
“We love each other,” David told our news crew. “It doesn’t really matter what we do, as long as we’re together,” he added.
We reminded them of all the broken marriages and families in society today and asked them if they ever experienced any challenges in their marriage.
“Well,” Glenda replied with a big smile on her face, “he can be challenging sometimes. But we just focus on the good things.”
“Naw,” David responded. “I never did have any problems with Glenda. She’s just a very kind person.”
We asked Glenda what the secret to a good marriage is, and she told us, “Commitment.”
Glenda added, “When you’re determined to love someone, you have to be willing to go through just about anything to be with them. You have to love them the way Jesus loved us.”
“For me, it was easy,” David added. “I just married someone better than me and who was more fun to be around than me too.”
They both laughed. And then David announced it was time to get back on the road.

Our news team talked about that all the way back to the office. It’s a powerful word, and it’s worth contemplating, especially when we see what society, culture, and evil spirits are trying to do to marriage and families these days.
