It’s Time To Talk

Therefore, brothers, stand firm and hold fast to the traditions that you were taught, either by an oral statement or by a letter of ours.

— 2 Thes 2:15 (NABRE)

Penance Worthy …

VATICAN CITY, VCS (CR News) — Yes! It’s true! At least, that’s what some usually-reliable sources in the Vatican are telling us. Pope Francis was mysteriously awakened at 3 a.m. recently by a light and a voice in his room. And those sources say that the Holy Father was indeed summoned to what was described as a “high level summit.”

The Vatican has had no official comments on this strange event and are not answering questions about it.

It Is Written …

The Bible tells us that the teachings of Jesus are found in our traditions. We are to hold fast to them, regardless whether someone speaks them “in the person of Christ” or gives us a written document (cf. 2 Thes 2:15).

It is also clear from the Bible that the pillar and foundation of truth is, in fact, the Church of the Living God (1 Tim 3:15). If you want to understand what something from Scripture means, find out what the Church Jesus established is teaching.

By the way, that same Church gave the world the Bible. The Bible did not give the world the Church (Jesus did that).

Life Goes On …

After learning about the summit at the Vatican, we approached an “insider” who overheard much of the conversation. The information reported below comes from a signed affidavit in our possession.

CALLER: “Bergoglio, wake up. I want to talk with you.”

PAPA: “Who is speaking to me? What do you want?”

CALLER: “Why have you been ambiguous with my children?”

PAPA: “You are ambiguous sometimes too, Lord.”

CALLER: “Perhaps, it seems that way to people. But I am God, and you are not. I know some things that you do not know, Bergy. You must be clear or you will cause much trouble for me.”

PAPA: “Sorry about that, Lord.”

CALLER: “Forgiven, Bergy.”

PAPA: “But Lord, I really thought I was clear.”

CALLER: “You confused a lot of cardinals a few years ago with your vagueness about marriage. And you didn’t answer their questions.”

PAPA: “They were just making trouble.”

CALLER: “For you, perhaps, Bergy. But not for me.”

PAPA: “Sorry about that, Lord.”

CALLER: “Forgiven, Bergy.”

PAPA: “What else, Lord?”

CALLER: “You also spend a lot of time with the global gang, Bergy. I don’t mind that, of course, but quit treating them as if they have all the answers. They don’t have everything right, Bergy. You should be teaching them instead of integrating their teachings into our faith.”

PAPA: “I have to get their trust, Lord.”

CALLER: “You have to do my will, Bergy.”

PAPA: “Sorry about that, Lord.”

CALLER: “Forgiven, Bergy.”

[Then there was a noise outside the Holy Father’s door. He heard it and spoke to the light about it.]

PAPA: “What was that, Lord? I think I just heard something. Someone is listening.”

CALLER: “Yes, Bergy. The whole world is listening. Deal with them in love, but also deal with them in truth. And the truth never changes over time, Bergy.”

The affidavit stopped there, but our sources say the conversation continued for quite some time. Whatever the outcome of this strange meeting at the Vatican, we can be certain that God is in control. And He is good, so we can trust Him!

Our Story …

That’s our story and we’re sticking to it. It’s cool to be Catholic. COOL2B!

Vivat Jesus!
