Leftover Parts

ORANGEBURG SC (CR News) — An aging Knight learned a valuable lesson recently from a fellow Knight during a routine medical checkup. Here’s the story as we currently have it.

Old Earl was feeling a little “out of sorts,” as he described it, so he scheduled a little time with “Doc Myron.” Doc is a member of a nearby council of the Knights of Columbus, and both men have been friends for many years.

After the normal beginnings, things like getting weighed and having his blood pressure checked, Doc came in to meet with Earl. It didn’t take long for the conversation to go in an unexpected direction. We have a short video from that conversation at the bottom of this page.

In an interview with Earl after the appointment, he told our news team that he quickly realized true healing comes only from the Lord (Josh 30:17). Earl said, “Our Lord not only gives us our health, but He also heals the wounds we receive” as we travel life’s Holy Highways (Is 35:8).

Earl expressed gratitude for the love of his good friend, Doc Myron, as well as the skills his doctor friend had acquired over the years. But he was quick to add that he would never invite Doc to his house to help work on a car.

The good news is that Earl is still in very good health. Doc Myron was right — he just needed to make a few adjustments in his lifestyle.

For I will restore health to you, and your wounds I will heal, says the Lord,

(Josh 30:17, NRSV)

That’s our story and we’re sticking to it. It’s cool to be Catholic! COOL2B!

Vivat Jesus!
