OUR STORY …
It was one of those mornings for Herman. You know! The kind of morning when nothing really seems to be important. Don’t try to do a “to-do” list on a morning like that.
“Blah! Blah! Blah!” the little, orange mouse thought. That’s just about the time that Gomez, his guardian angel, showed up on the scene.
IT IS WRITTEN …
The Bible has a lot to say on this subject. Of course, Herman knew that already, but some days, a little mouse just needs a reminder. Maybe that’s why God puts angels in our lives.
In everything, do to others what you wish they would do for you, it tells us. And yes, everything means “everything.”(Matt 7:12)
Don’t bear grudges, it says. Don’t even think about getting even with others. Just love your neighbor as yourself. (Lev 19:18).
“But how do you know what to do?” the Bible seems to ask. “Simple enough,” it replies. Just do whatever you wish that someone else might do to (for) you in the moment. (Luke 6:31)
And who could ever forget love your neighbor as yourself? (Gal 5:14)
LIFE GOES ON …
Gomez was gentle, but he was not about to let Herman’s little pity-party continue. There was work to be done in the day today. There were blessings to be shared and joy to be experienced. As Gomez exhorted his little, orange protege to step forward into the day, Herman remembered yet another Bible verse that Gomez did not mention.
This is the day that the Lord has made, the verse says. Let’s all rejoice and be glad in it (Ps 118:24).
That’s our story and we’re sticking to it. It’s cool to be Catholic. COOL2B!
Herman listened as he walked (danced) through the day!
