OUR STORY …
As the old expression goes, Herman didn’t see that one coming! Another “unanticipated surprise” (aren’t all surprises unanticipated) that threw him for a loop. Though it was still very early in the day, things definitely weren’t going the way the little, orange mouse had planned.
IT IS WRITTEN …
That’s when Herman remembered something he had read recently in his Bible. God has a plan for each of us (Jer 29:11-12). Your life will go the way He planned it.
That’s not to say that you shouldn’t plan — in fact, you should. But give your plans to God and let God guide your footsteps (Prov 16:3,9). God knows things about today that you and I couldn’t possibly know (Isa 55:8). And He loves us (John 3:16) and wants the very best for us (Prov 3:5-6).
You can trust God more than you can trust yourself.
LIFE GOES ON …
After he prayed, Herman realized there were things in his life that he didn’t like so much. Nevertheless, he decided to be satisfied with the moment. He was not a perfect, little mouse and never would be in this lifetime. God didn’t make him that way. And if the truth were known, it could even be that Herman’s imperfections were somehow part of God‘s plan for his life as a mouse.
Herman would focus on being the best version of himself today (Matthew Kelly). As his buddy Earl liked to say, “If you can’t be holy, Herman, at least try to have a few holy moments.” Herman was pretty sure that one came from Matthew Kelly too, but Earl had a special way of saying it so convincingly.
He made a simple strategy for today. He would let go of the circumstances and let God have His way. Herman would seek joy in today (Ps 118:24) and find his peace by being who he was and knowing that God was in charge.
COOL2B …
Consider what’s happening in your life. How would you describe your life right now? What’s going on? What should you start, stop, or change doing?
Don’t overlook the little things — they can all make a big difference! When you answer the question above, do whatever that small voice is telling you to do (1 Kings 19:12).
That’s our story and we’re sticking to it. It’s cool to be Catholic. COOL2B!
In Christ.

Herman, You are my first Holy Moment choice of the day. Clicking on you opens the door to a day filled with Holy Moment opportunities. Thank you 🙏 and God Bless the little orange mouse I toast with my orange juice. Amen On Sun, Nov 29, 2020 at 06:49 Bible Study Cartoons wrote:
