Love Is A Powerful Force

OUR STORY

Herman was out for a morning walk when he noticed another little mouse sitting on the park bench. She looked very sad.

He wanted to speak to her. He wanted to ask her if she was okay. But Herman didn’t do that.

Doing things like that always seemed awkward to Herman. He didn’t want the sad mouse to think he was one of those perverted, park rodents. And he didn’t want to scare her or offend her either. But still, Herman was concerned.

Herman decided to pull out his rosary and pray about her as he listened to some really sweet music.

IT IS WRITTEN

As he prayed, Herman remembered a little book named On The Call To Holiness In Today’s World by Pope Francis. He was starting to realize that Pope Francis was really a counterculture guy! Though he was different from Pope John Paul II, it seemed like Francis was carrying on the divine mercy work of JPII. Being a mouse in need of much mercy himself, Herman really liked that about Pope Francis.

The book, which is properly entitled Gaudete Et Exsultate, was exactly what the world needed right now, Herman thought. The sad, little mouse on the park bench needed it.

Our hearts long for hope and love, Herman thought, but mostly all we have is splendid technology and lots of meaningless talk. Social media, politics, the news — they were all full of it.

LIFE GOES ON …

As Herman prayed for the sad mouse, he could almost hear a voice saying, “Just tell these mice the truth.” That’s when Herman wondered, “What is the truth, really? If I had only 10 seconds to tell the world the truth, what should I tell them?”

The answer was easy enough. In fact, Herman knew it even before he finished asking the question.

“Love.” That was the answer. It is the truth.

All they needed to know is that God loves them — all of them. And when they’ve finally had enough of the emptiness of a world full of gadgets and toys, God would be waiting for them with open arms. He loves them and wants to fill them with real joy. Sad, little mice will never find real joy anywhere else because God is love.

“Wow!” Herman thought. “We really need a new counterculture movement, and love is the secret to the new counterculture. Love is a powerful force!”

COOL2B

That’s our story and we’re sticking to it. It’s cool to be Catholic. COOL2B!

In Christ!

  1. I like Herman’s closing thumbs up and wink. It’s cool to be Catholic, and may LOVE lead us on our Holy Moment life, one at a time, amen. Earl On Sat, Oct 3, 2020 at 09:18 Bible Study Cartoons wrote:
