Nothing’s Impossible

Enter through the narrow gate. (Matt 7:13)

It wasn’t impossible for the rich man to get to heaven. That‘s not what Jesus was actually saying.

Heaven is open to all people through Jesus Christ. Our Lord’s real point was that rich men love their money. It is their God. But money has no value in heaven’s economy. So as the rich man clings to his money, he loses his way to heaven.

Of course, not all rich people are like this. Jesus didn’t say that, and we’re not saying that either.

Anything you love more than Jesus could keep you out of heaven. That’s because, whatever you love most is likely to be what you’ll have forever in eternity. That’s how much God loves us — and it ought to terrify us!

Herman’s message today is that you need to get to know Jesus so well that you’ll love Him the most.

Jesus has already opened the gates of heaven for you! Will you walk through them some day with Jesus — or will you cling to something that has no lasting value? We’re all in danger of being the rich man, even if we don’t have a lot of money.

It’s cool to be Catholic! COOL2B!
