“The Lord is God.” (1 Kings 18:39)
Of course, most of us know that we‘re not God, but apparently, Herman has struggled with authority and control at some point in his life. And since that‘s the business of God, he has also struggled with God.
Today Is The Only Day You Have …
As he does his morning prayers, the little, orange mouse wisely realizes that today is not the best day for him to be God. He understands that he won’t be able to do that job today as well as our Lord can. And he might even realize that today is the only day he will ever live (… when tomorrow comes, it always turns into today).
What about you? Are there still places in your life where you’d prefer to exercise authority? Are there still parts of your life where you think you know better than the Bible? Or maybe you think you know more about taking care of your immortal soul than the Church Jesus started (Matt 16:18-20)? If so, it could be time for a change. Today might be the day you join Herman in his prayer.
COOL2B …
Catholics don’t have to be the god of their lives. We‘re free to enjoy learning how to be the best possible version of ourselves we can be (thank you for that little quote, Matthew Kelly).
It’s cool to be Catholic! COOL2B!
In Christ.
