Jesus said to His disciples, “You are the salt of the earth.” (Matt 5:13)

Our Lord did not send His disciples to save the world. Salvation was His work alone. With the help of the Holy Spirit, however, He sent them to make the world holy.

The Bible tells us that nothing unclean will ever enter heaven (Rev 22:27). By the blood of Jesus, our sins are forgiven. That’s really Good News! But if foregivess were the whole story, everyone would be in heaven — and that’s not going to happen (Matt 25:31-46).

Although it is not the Father’s will that any of us would be lost, sadly, some will be lost for all of eternity. There are people around us right now who are in danger of never entering the gates of heaven. They need to be sanctified — to be made holy.

The Holy Spirit sanctifies us. He does His work in and through us. Our work in the flesh includes being salt.

Our lives should be radically different from what people see going on in the world now on the news. We should be an “alternative culture”. We ought to be a different path, one that leads to the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6).

What’s your plan for today? Are you ready to be a bit salty?

It’s cool to be Catholic! COOL2B!
