Jesus tells the people, “God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life is being demanded of you.'” (LK 12:20a).

ACCORDING TO THE CATECHISM (CCC) …
Faith makes us taste in advance the light of the beatific vision, the goal of our journey here below. Then we shall see God “face to face”, “as he is”. So faith is already the beginning of eternal life:
When we contemplate the blessings of faith even now, as if gazing at a reflection in a mirror, it is as if we already possessed the wonderful things which our faith assures us we shall one day enjoy.— CCC# 163
PRACTICAL APPLICATION …
Consider your death while you still have time. Someday you will come face with your fate.
The wise person recognizes that the things of this world are temporary (in time). Although it’s actually a good thing to enjoy life now, we should focus on those things that will make a difference forever.
DISCIPLESHIP TIME …
Based on the “Daily Readings” and the cartoon above:
- What should I start doing that I’m not doing right now?
- What should I stop doing that I am doing now?
- What should I change doing (continue doing, but do differently)?
